The Worst Roller Coaster Ever…
It feels to me like we have hit a brick wall today. After an encouraging conference call from government agencies Tuesday we get completely conflicting information from our adoption agency. We are one of 5 families in our agency who have not received any communication verifying that our files are present and being “vetted” (the government term for “worked on”.) The government says DO NOT got to Haiti. LBB says that may be the only way to get our children. We can’t get anyone to get information to or from DHS on our behalf. Our adoption was farther along than most of the ones who HAVE heard from DHS. As a matter of fact, we found out yesterday that the twins have an adoption decree. Which means they are LEGALLY ours. McKenly does not, go figure that out. We should be celebrating this, two of our boys have the Rumo name. Bittersweet at this point.
We really have no idea what our next move is. For now it appears we sit and wait and continue to try to get at DHS to find out what is going on. The government’s promise of days not weeks is obviously not true. Now, we can only pray that it is weeks not months to get this straightened out. Meanwhile we know our boys are safe for now and they have been told by a mom who is down there that we love them and are going to get them as soon as we can. I pray that it happens soon!
