Another Thank You
I have the most fortunate of situations with this blog. Our friend and youth pastor came to us at the beginning of our journey and asked if we would like him to create and maintain a blog for us. Since neither Paul nor I had the faintest idea how to do so we welcomed this gift!! He has done an amazing job, posting my entries within hours of when I send them his way. I am pretty sure he doesn’t sleep since it seems he is always near his computer. My fortunate situation is that he also monitors the comments. While he has sent us one or two negative ones for us to respond to if we wanted to (which we did not feel the need to waste our time on) he has deleted the rest of them at my request. Recently he told me we had received a few of them, one in particular that was 6 paragraphs long, regarding the topic of international adoption. The writers, who for the most part are all too cowardly to leave a valid e mail, ranted about how we should not be adopting from Haiti when their are domestic adoptions to be had (even AFTER the earthquake, unreal!). I have given our opinion on this matter before. When deciding to adopt Paul & I prayed for direction. We considered all options and truly felt led to international adoption. We felt strongly that since we were open to interracial adoption we needed to pursue that. Some people choose not to adopt interracially for various reasons and we respect that. Of course once we experienced the true poverty in Haiti we were even more convinced we were on the right path. With that said, what I do not understand about these comment makers is why are they reading our blog? Why waste time reading a blog whose subject matter is one you disagree with. I don’t surf the web for pro-choice blogs or atheism blogs or psychic blogs because these are subjects I am not interested in. So to those of you out there still reading and sending nasty comments that I won’t see anyway get the heck of our blog. Go spread your judgmental, one sided, ignorant opinions somewhere else. Go live your privileged, over indulgent, materialistic life and leave us alone. Wow, I feel so much better now. I love this blogging thing! Thanks PC.
