Adventures!

We went to church for the first time together. The boys did great, they were welcomed like celebrities. Thank you all for the warm welcome. Lesson learned though, don’t let them have “machines” in church. Our sanctuary was once a school auditorium so the floor is sloped downward like a theater. We sit about 10 rows from the front. Mid sermon, Mackenson dropped his matchbox car and it rolled all the way to the front where our pastor could not resist stopping his message to deliver the car back to us. The cutest part was the loud Thank You that Mackenson gave as if this was all a normal part of church. Too funny.
We stopped for a bagel after church, again they did well however on the way to get the bagel MacKenzie dumped a cup of milk on his brothers head. This lead to him going home with his older brother and sister while the other two got to go to the “market” to pick out a toy.
Thus, our first trip to Toys R Us. We explained clearly they could look at everything but they were getting one toy. They did FANTASTIC!!! It was so cool to see their faces light up at every turn. They especially went nuts over the battery operated cars and such that they could pretend to drive. I see some cool “Ride-On” toys in our future. In the end, MacKenson stuck with his original request which was a baby. I have to admit, I had it in my mind that I really wanted them to have brown baby dolls, but alas all he wanted was a little guy that actually swims when his tummy hits water. A little creepy when you see it in action but he is happy! MacKenley chose a dump truck that makes all kinds of sounds. He too stuck with his first request which was a “machine”.
We felt really bad about MacKenzie not being there so we let them pick out a smaller truck for their brother. We weren’t sure if MacKenzie would even get the consequence of his behavior. He did. When we got home and he saw the toys and we explained to him why he didn’t go to the market he got it. A little while later he came to me and said “Mamma, Mackenzie bohn, ale market demen please baby?” Translation. “If I am good, can we go to the market tomorrow and get a babydoll?” He got it. Fortunately, his brothers were kind and shared their treasures.
When I was tucking Kenzie in he repeated his request only adding the items he wants his baby to have; a red robe, sandals, earrings, a shirt and glasses. That boy can be so naughty and turn right around and be too cute!
I am a little freaked out with the arrival of the new week. paul will be out of town until Thursday and Em has a babysitting job starting tonight until Thursday. That leaves me pretty much with all three. I am WAY out numbered. Fortunately we had a new friend over on Saturday who speaks creole. She explained what was going to happen several times to the boys. I also put together an explanation in creole as best I could and they seem to get it. It just worries me that they won’t really b assured that their Pappa is coming home. Prayers are welcomed for the next few days.
Continued thanks for all the cards, gifts, prayers and support!!!!!!
