About

As we begin this holiday season ( 2008 ) it is time for all of us to reflect on how fortunate we are to have the opportunities we have here in the United States. We are all truly blessed. Our family is no different; God has richly blessed us throughout this year. It is with these blessing in mind that we began to consider a new journey for the Rumo family. We feel strongly that God is calling us to share our blessings with those in need. We have embarked on a truly spiritual guided journey, international adoption.  We are especially being called to those children in need on the island nation of Haiti.

In the next two (2) years, Zachary and Emily will be both heading off to college.  So, as a family, we decided to look for a sibling group in need a home.  After much prayer and counsel we are currently working with Family Connections here Central New York and Love Beyond Borders, in Haiti.  Some extraordinary events have taken place allowing us the opportunity to learn about several different sibling groups in need of adoption in Haiti. One particular family of three, yes I said three (3), boys have opened our hearts.  The mother of the boys is terminally ill and their home was destroyed by a hurricane in 2007.  Their father had no choice but to bring them to an orphanage because he was unable to care for them any longer. It was clear to us upon seeing these boys that they were “our boys.”  We have even had an opportunity to find out their names. Their names are Mackenzie (4 years old twin); Mackenson (4 year old twin); and Mackenley (2 year old), the Mac Brothers. The orphanage was just about to separate the boys because Mackenley is more “adoptable” then the older boys.  We feel that we are being called to keep this family together.
